FAQs Frog Light

How do I install the boat light on my boat?

Preparation

The LED boat light has been supplied with sufficient Velcro to attach to your boat. It is recommended the surface be thoroughly cleaned before contact with the velcro adhesive.

Light should be fitted at a point on either bow or stern canvas where light does not effect the rowers vision, whilst illuminating as much of the boat as possible.

The canvas ‘shape’ in each boat class, each boat mould and each boat manufacturer will vary and therefore the most practical location to meet the above guidelines must be determined before fitment.

Installation

Remove the backing paper off the bottom of the Frog Light velcro patch, turn over and push down hard to adhere the adhesive/Froglight to the boat. Allow at least 36 hours before separating the light from the velcro and boat. Please contact us if you require anymore information on installation.

How long do the batteries last?

A minimum of 30 hours.

Do I need to replace batteries?

No the batteries are fully re-chargable. Use the charger with the pink clip to recharge your light.

How do I know when the batteries are going flat?

A little led light within the case will glow red.

IMPORTANT: Never let your batteries run completely flat as it is likely the batteries will never recover. Store your Frog Lights upside down. They should never be left without charging for a period of greater than 6 months.

How long do I charge my batteries for when they are close to flat?

For 24 hours – we call it a ‘trickle charge’ and will prolong the life of your batteries.

Does the Frog Light Float?

Yes it does float,  it is also recommended a leash plug be attached next to the Frog Light, just in case of capsize.

Are navigation lights required for rowing?

In most cases yes. Please check with your local (or state) maritime authority for more information regarding boat light safety on the water.
